The world is still advancing everyday with Amazon.com
planning on delivering packages with drones in 5 years, but we have always had
issues with implementing this technology into our classrooms. With kids today
only focused on the technology that is placed in front of
them, we need to find a way to keep them engaged. One major point that I
brought up was the use of social media websites like Facebook and using them to
help students make connections and share useful information for class. But if
schools did use these online tools, they should also have classes on proper netiquette.
If no such precautions were to take place then cyber bullying would most likely
hit an all-time high. Teachers would also have to take classes on basic
computer programs and what is the newest ways that students could get around
the set parameters, otherwise students would run free on whatever website they
would like.
It is going to be very difficult to make all of these technological
changes to education, but it’s something that needs to happen today to help
better out youth for a tomorrow that is filled with all sorts of innovations. Money is one of the biggest issues against it
and schools just aren’t able to divert that much of their funds to the newest
gadgets. School districts should also take into account what the teachers truly
want. If the teacher was able to choose out their own technology then there
would be less waste and more thought about how it could be implemented into the
classrooms. Finally in order for all of this to happen, the governments would
have to see how important education truly is and how much more funding it needs
than the largest military in the world. But with all of the issues in Congress
today with nobody getting along, it would appear that we have a long way to
travel. So there is only one solution remaining. Jeff McCabe, 2016. He has my
vote.
